Security Part of ShopFloorManager's Integrated Architecture
ShopFloorManager Architecture

ShopFloorManager was designed to have all of it's applications fully integrated into it's Architecture so they have the same look and feel, internal data exchange and document control mechanisms making it easy to add new or modifying existing applications!

This is important in minimizing any integration issues as they have been fully debugged and use proven interfaces for efficient integration. This also provides customers with applications with the same look and feel.

As an example the Master Document Control Module is used by all applications that maintain document histories and revision control. When we first introduced SuiteFactory we we only dealt with DNC Files and their histories.

As our customers required a more robust system to handle documents we were able to easily introduced documents into our system using the Master Document Control Module's Architecture and data exchange mechanisms while maintaining the same look and feel.

As our customers grew and required a complete Document Control System we introduce Packets, presently ShopFloorOperations, to be able to manage projects that required associating and controlling any number of N/C Files, Documents & Sub-Packets! Again this was relatively easy to do while maintaining the same look and feel.

The most glaring evidence is that our ShopFloorMonitoring is fully integrated in ShopFloorManager as the Application Machine Status is displayed from within ShopFloorManager which is part of ShopFloorMonitoring. It is not an external addon application.

Security includes the following:

ShopSecurity provides setting any Level of Security required by your company Customer. The are settable using User Groups, User Group Rights(162) in 11 different categories), Users, Logins & Passwords, ShopFileCabinets, Resource Collections, restricted "Views" in User Configurable Combinations, etc. These provide any level of Security that a Company may requires.

Set the desired Security Level by Creating any number of User Groups, configuring User Group Rights, creating & adding: Users, Resources, ISO Sign-Off States, etc. to these User Groups.

Users inherit their combined User Group Rights based on the User Groups to which they belong. These inherited Rights allow Access to ShopFloorManager's Specific: Features, Data, Resources, Information, Files, Documents, etc.

You can also configure ShopFloorManager to require Users to enter a Reason(s) for any configured Change Events associated with ShopNCFiles, & ShopFloorOperations. The Change Event Reasons are customer creatable to meet the specific Customer needs.

When the Event is triggered a User is presented with a Customer Configurable List of Change Reasons and an input screen to enter a brief description of these Changes. You can then later use ShopFloorReports to generate a detailed History Reports!

A User Group is the base building block for securely regulating accessing to ShopFloorManager’s Features, Resources, Applications, etc. They have a built-in structure for configuring & controlling access to a hierarchy of Features, Resources, etc. for any of it's assigned Users.

Users can be assigned to any number of User Groups inheriting the "Rights" from each of the User Groups to which they belong! That's Security!

As shown above ShopFloorManager's approved Users can configure User Groups' Rights, Feature Access, etc. for a Unique Role and level of Security! That makes ShopFloorManager a "Real" Document Control System not limited to Microsoft's Structure but Enhances it!

Each User Group has access to 11 Categories with 162 individual Rights!

Note: See our User Manual for a more detailed explanation!

Users

Creating and Assigning Users to User Groups"

Users
Note: To zoom in on the above Graphic hold the CTRL Key while using the Mouse Wheel!

A ShopFloorManager User can be created for individuals or as a "Group User" such as Mill Operators for access by multiple personnel. If Security is a concern you should assign a password to every User. We feel that Passwords should ALMOST always be used!

The Password works in conjunction with the User Group to logout of a session after a configurable activity time out. The User must then login again!

Users can be associated with any number of User Groups and provide the gateway into ShopFloorManager.

Note: See our User Manual for a more detailed explanation!
