Primer - Manage DNC Files

Most discrete Manufacturing Facilities use automated Machinery such as CNC's to manufacture their Parts. This Machinery requires DNC Files(DNC Files) to "Drive" these Machines in its production phase. ShopFloorManager's ShopDNC can securely Manage & Control all of your DNC Files used during the Manufacturing Process including ISO9000 compliance and all of the CNC Protocols & Communications needed to operate your Shop Floor Machinery!

ShopFloorManager supports three different types of "Documents" which are regularly used in Manufacturing. These include Generic CNC Machine Files(Could be Macros Sub-Routines, etc.), Engineering Documents(Drawings, Quality Documents, CAM Files, etc.) and a special type of "Document" which we call a "Packet". A Packet is very sophisticated Container(Can hold Sub-Packets, DNC Files, Help Files & Manufacturing Documents) which is sometimes referred to as a "Shop Floor Operation", "Project", "Multi-Level Task", etc. For quick-view on Packets and how they are uses within ShopFloorManager see other sections within this Windows View.

The "Manage DNC File" Window above provides all of the Tools needed to work with any DNC Files regardless if you are an Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Control Engineer, CNC Supervisor, Shop Operator, CNC Programmer, etc. Some of these Tools allow you to: Create DNC Files, Create Help Files, Edit DNC Files, Compare DNC Files, Print DNC Files, View DNC Files, Sign-Off & Approval, Create Virtual File Cabinets, etc.

After selecting the DNC File you want to work with select the function you want to perform on this DNC File by clicking on the appropriate Icon on ShopFloorManager Runtime or by right clicking the mouse over the selected DNC File and selecting from the various options displayed.

DNC Files Data Relation Views

In the Manage DNC Files Window above a specific "View" is displayed which a Programmer would find useful to control, manage & manipulate his or her Files. This "View" allows the Programmer to view his or her Files with a Data Relationship that involves CNC Machine Tools, Resource Collections(Repository for DNC Files & Packets) & File Cabinets.

Note: By creating the appropriate File Cabinets, Resource Collections, User Groups, etc. and setting the appropriate "Rights" a User can control and manage all of the Files that are their responsibility.

Selecting a specific Data Relationship View

There are well over 213 x (number of different Approval States) Different possible Data Relationship Views that can easily be selected & set so Operators, Engineers, Administrators can view DNC Files within the context of their responsibilities. The User can set the options to create the "View" that best meets the present needs for Managing & Controlling his or her Files. This "View" can be saved as using the "Save Default View" Menu so the next time they login the same "View" will be displayed.
